+Two nearly identical 1975 public-housing towers in Tai Hang, each built around an open-air circular atrium that runs unobstructed from the ground-floor courtyard to the sky — stand in the middle and look straight up, and the ring of balconies spirals into a dizzying, almost hypnotic pattern. The cylindrical design made it a natural fit for the sci-fi look of Ghost in the Shell (2017), which filmed a scene in the atrium. It's still a lived-in Housing Society estate with a guard checking resident cards at the entrance, so visitors are limited to the ground-floor courtyard and should keep noise and camera use to a minimum — it's someone's home, not an attraction.
