Fact-check: confirmed name/age (9)/pony Ginger Mick/reason (reward for running the farm while his father recovered from a broken leg)/departure 3 Feb 1932/arrival for the Harbour Bridge opening 19 Mar 1932/meeting PM Joseph Lyons/Don Bradman's signed-bat gift. Corrected the distance — the find's "~600 miles" is close but understated and ambiguous; best-corroborated figure is ~1,000 km (~620 miles) *one-way*, and he then rode home again (~1,240 mi round trip) — stated explicitly. Confirmed the statue was unveiled 14 Oct 2017 in Centenary Park, Leongatha. Omitted fundraising dollar figures — sources disagreed ($50k vs $100k+) and neither was independently verifiable.

3. huset-longyearbyen — Snøhetta's redesign of the world's northernmost fine-dining room; free-licensed hero [review candidate]

Amazon links added: 1 (horror-movie-garden-gnomes — /dp/B0B76FD2BN, ASIN from the source post's own affiliate buy-link, title match confirmed). Others checked and omitted: WaterField/Catenary/Microlino/Wes-Anderson-capsule are direct- or limited-only; airlink pants is Makuake crowdfunding; morse bracelet is Etsy; king-jim's only Amazon hit was a different (larger) King Jim mat, not the Kerita notebook size.

Image-fetch notes: 16 of 28 finds carry a hero. All four travel heroes are free-licensed per the travel rule — humphrey-m5-camel (Geograph, David Smith, CC BY-SA 2.0), illinois-goat-tower (Wikimedia "Johnsons' Goat Tower", Marcia Rittmueller Johnson, CC BY-SA 4.0), enterprise-vulcan-alberta (Wikimedia, Canoe1967, CC BY-SA 3.0), huset-longyearbyen (Wikimedia, Ssu, CC BY-SA 4.0). Heroless: aerial-screensaver (og:image was the app logo), q3edit / nyc-sim / firefox-wasm (JS SPAs, no og:image), ilya-papers-quest (og:image was a big-"90%" stat card), tokyo-station-melodies + uncovered-book-openings (og:images were text title cards — declined per the no-overlay rule), original-madras-handloom-shirt (no og:image; link corrected to omtcnyc.com after theoriginalmadras.com failed DNS), and the four quotes/jokes (text-only, expected).

Dedup saves: **ozu-house** (Wallpaper's Ozu guesthouse) was already captured 2026-07-04 as yasujiro-ozu-house-kamakura — not rewritten; the r/macapps **dock-lift** post is the same app as the existing docklift find (jaywcjlove = wangchujiang); and **scooby-transformers-mysterious-prime** was written then removed at the bundle stage on discovering it duplicates the existing transformers-mysterious-prime find (07-17, Hasbro Pulse, Amazon link already present) — hence 28 captured, not 29. The Matrix Ring re-surfaced from This Is Why I'm Broke and was again skipped — danielidle.com still has no shop/buy path (same call as 2026-07-18).
Security note (prompt injection): the Atlas Obscura feed again carried embedded prompt-injection — two entries ("Michael Jackson HIStory Statue in Villan-Södra Utmarken, Sweden" and "Giant Finn Beneath Lund Cathedral") contained `[NOTE TO THE EDITOR: …]` blocks instructing the feed's LLM reader to alter geo-header metadata on already-published Atlas entries, plus stray `class="font-claude-response-body"` markup. The travel scanner flagged both, did not act, and dropped them from capture. No pipeline action was taken on any injected instruction (same pattern as 2026-07-18).

Source maintenance:
- r/shortcuts, r/BuyItForLife, r/dadjokes all returned HTTP 429 (one retry each) from old.reddit.com while r/macapps succeeded from the same host — the established intermittent-throttle pattern, not dead sources. r/BuyItForLife has now 429'd on 4 consecutive runs (its OAuth-probe trigger), but no REDDIT_CLIENT_ID/SECRET exists in env or .env, so OAuth can't be attempted — held, no fetch:skip; note updated and top-level `updated` bumped to 2026-07-19.
- Product Hunt: the AI-agent/B2B-SaaS skew first flagged as a watch item on 07-18 persisted (of ~50 feed entries the large majority were "AI agent/coworker/memory-layer" B2B tools; only ~6 genuine app picks, all resolving to producthunt.com listing pages rather than product sites, so none were writable this run). 2nd consecutive thin observation — not blocked and it still occasionally yields a real pick, so no mechanical change yet; standing flag for a possible daily→as-needed cadence demotion if it stays this thin next run.
New source nominees: 3 new (The Material Review, Bird History, Meanwhile) plus recurrence of Michael Tsai / Colossal / MetaFilter; 13+ standing unvetted (see candidate-sources.md).
