site: pick of the day — Porcelain Room, Aranjuez
Rotates off clasica-fiberglass-camper-trailer, which was made the pick on
07-16 hours before the 'no camping gear in the hero' rule landed
(b145520). Content rule 4 keeps the camper's find, review and bundle spot
published and untouched — but the pick is re-decided from scratch every
run, so re-affirming it today would be making a fresh decision that
breaks rule 3, not preserving an old one. Rule 4 protects what's
published; it doesn't grandfather the hero slot.
Chosen over we-are-rewind-pink-floyd-cassette (dark, ad-like box-set tile
with branding in-frame; appeal narrows to Floyd fans). Sailor's Knife was
ineligible on the front-page safety rule — it's a knife.
The porcelain-room hero delights with no context required.

Fact-check: the headline claim is **attributed, not asserted**. We Are Rewind's page calls the tape the "official 50th Anniversary Remastered Edition (2023)" and several outlets (SoundGuys, Forbes, TechRadar, TechPlugged) repeat the "only cassette version" line, but every instance traces back to We Are Rewind's own press materials — no independent confirmation against the Pink Floyd/Warner catalogue exists. The review says so rather than repeating it as fact. Genuine collaboration evidence: Nick Mason gave a launch quote. Numbered edition, run size undisclosed. Hardware confirmed: Bluetooth 5.1, 2,000mAh (10–12h), USB-C, 3.5mm line-in recording (Type I only), plays all four formulations. **No auto-reverse** — confirmed across independent WE-001 reviews, stated as an honest limitation. Enrichment: the transport is newly manufactured, not NOS — We Are Rewind (French, founded 2021) brought in two former Thomson analog engineers to machine a new mechanism after finding the cassette-mechanism factories had closed. $199, in stock.

~450-word body.

Amazon: omitted — the only ASIN found (B0F8QFZ4SM) is the generic "Edith, Pink & Green" WE-001, not this edition. Same-model rule.

## 2026-07-17 — pick of the day: porcelain-room-aranjuez
Rotated from clasica-fiberglass-camper-trailer (which had held since 07-16).
**The rotation was forced, and the reasoning is worth recording.** The Clasica camper was made the pick on 07-16. The "no camping gear in the hero" rule (EDITORIAL.md content rule 3) landed *later the same day*, in commit b145520 — after the pick was already set. Content rule 4 says rules look forward and never trigger retroactive edits, which is why the Clasica find and review both stay published, untouched, and keep their bundle spot in "Comforts off the grid". But the pick of the day is not a published artifact — it is an explicit editorial decision this pipeline re-makes from scratch every run. Re-affirming the camper today would be *making a new pick decision that violates rule 3*, not preserving an old one. So it rotates. Rule 4 protects what's published; it doesn't grandfather the hero slot.

Chosen from this run's three graduations plus the existing review pool, on the two pick criteria (best hero visual + broadest, most immediately-legible appeal):
The Porcelain Room hero is the best image the site has had in weeks — Draceane's naturally-lit Commons shot (6960×4640, CC BY-SA 4.0) looking up into the vault: dense greens and golds, rococo figures crawling across every surface, the palm-tree chandelier's trunk running right down the centre of the frame, daylight coming through the far window. It reads at thumbnail size as "a room that cannot possibly be real", which is exactly the reaction the tile wants. Appeal is broad in the way that matters — you need no fandom, no context, and no prior interest to look at it and want to know more. Entirely benign; nothing in it could read as endorsing harm.
Not best-made-sailors-knife: **ineligible for the hero, by rule.** It's a knife — EDITORIAL.md content rule 2 (front-page safety) names weapons and anything that cuts, and the daily-pipeline skill spells out the exact case ("A knife is a bad pick"). It stays a find and a review, both published today; it just never gets the front page. This is the swap the rule anticipates, noted here per the skill.
Not we-are-rewind-pink-floyd-cassette: the closest call. Benign, delightful, and genuinely fresh. But its hero is a black-on-black studio shot of a box set — low contrast at tile size, and it carries "PINK FLOYD / SPECIAL EDITION" branding inside the frame, so it reads as an advertisement rather than an invitation. Its appeal also narrows to people who already care about Pink Floyd or cassettes. The Porcelain Room needs no such prior.
Not holding a pool review: two strong graduations landed today, so the "don't look frozen" rule points the same way as the quality call.
