description: "An open-source Mac dictation app that transcribes speech entirely on-device with Apple's SpeechAnalyzer, then cleans up filler words and formatting with on-device Foundation Models — no account, no API key, no cloud."

Hold Fn, talk, and Megaphone transcribes with Apple's SpeechAnalyzer while you're still speaking, then runs a local Foundation Models pass to strip filler words and self-corrections and adapt formatting to whatever app you're typing into. Nothing leaves the Mac — no account, no API key, no subscription. It's MIT-licensed and free, though it only runs on Apple silicon under macOS 26 Tahoe.
