rzen 8c0cec06ee Implement create operations for board, lane, and card
createBoard fills or mints a .kanban (or extension-less) folder and
refuses to clobber an existing board; createLane/createCard mint fresh
lowercase-UUIDv4 folders and append at max+1024 among visible siblings
via the same strict scan renumber uses (extracted, shared). New files
carry schema/title?/order?/created/modified — created==modified, no
modified-by — written LF through the same atomic temp+rename path.
The editability pre-flight is now scoped to operations that rewrite
siblings: renumber refuses on an uneditable sibling, a create beside
one proceeds. Schema constant unified on BoardLoader.supportedSchema.
Info.plist declares the .kanban document type (UTI conforming to
com.apple.package) so Finder treats a board as one document.

20 new unit tests; 196 total green.

Lanework

A native macOS kanban app whose boards are plain folders and Markdown files. Every board, lane, and card is a folder with an index.md (YAML frontmatter + Markdown body); the filesystem is the source of truth and the app is a live view over it.

The defining consequence: anything that can read and write files is a first-class user of a board — text editors, Finder, shell scripts, git, and above all AI agents. Lanework's job is to be the best human surface over that substrate.

Key features

Lanework is in early development. This list tracks what has actually shipped and grows milestone by milestone; the full design lives in DESIGN/.

No UI yet — the storage foundation is in place:

  • Storage contract, read side — frontmatter engine with a byte-perfect round-trip guarantee (unknown keys, comments, and formatting survive every rewrite; duplicate keys read last-wins; wrong-type scalars coerce read-side), gapped fractional ordering (Ranks), and a fail-fast board loader with UUID-gated level detection, warning-collecting skips, and tombstone-aware snapshots — pinned by a golden fixture suite of 18 on-disk boards.

Development

The Xcode project is generated — project.yml is the source of truth, not the .xcodeproj:

xcodegen generate
xcodebuild build -project Kanban.xcodeproj -scheme Kanban -destination 'platform=macOS'
xcodebuild test -project Kanban.xcodeproj -scheme Kanban -destination 'platform=macOS,arch=arm64'

macOS 26+, Swift 6 (strict concurrency), SwiftUI, sandboxed. Internal codename Kanban (target, scheme, bundle id dev.rzen.indie.Kanban); the app ships under the display name Lanework.
