Source maintenance: none. (r/shortcuts 429 again this run — 2nd soft rate-limit after 07-04, under the 3-consecutive-run hard-block threshold and it's a 429 not a Cloudflare/empty-403/DNS block; no change. sources.json untouched, `updated` left at 2026-07-03.)

New source nominees: 0 (daily sweep surfaced no curated-feed credits; individual makers only). candidate-sources.md backlog of prior nominees still awaits user vetting.

Autonomous pick. Today's shortlist had an unusually coherent local-first cluster centred on the AI-agent moment, and it was the freshest honest theme available: yesterday shipped a precision-EDC bundle and 07-03 shipped two web-toy/archive bundles, so another gear or web-toy roundup would repeat; a metal-day gear bundle (cjrb / claymore / hamilton / drop-stop) was the runner-up but too close to yesterday's "Milled for the pocket." Distinct from the 2026-05-06 "On-device, by design" bundle — that one used generic on-device Mac apps (hidemydata, sentient-os, transcribex, resurf); this is a current MCP/agent-era crop (all four items new 07-05, none overlapping). Kept it tight at 4, all hero-bearing, for a full mosaic; SubSmith (local Whisper) was the nearest 5th but its hook is sentence-mining, not privacy, and it has no hero — dropped to keep the theme honest.

## 2026-07-05 — bundle: The week's catch — June 28–July 5

Weekly-catch safety valve. The 07-04 run explicitly deferred a week's catch ("can run next cycle if shortlisted finds accumulate unbundled"); by today the trailing-7-day unbundled shortlist had grown to ~23, no week's-catch bundle exists in the window, and yesterday's strong shortlisted finds were at risk of staying invisible (finds are only reachable through bundles). Focused the catch on the 07-04 shortlist rather than today's fresh 07-05 finds — the 07-04 ones are the ones languishing without a theme, while today's can seed future themed bundles. Capped at 8 by rank; all 8 carry heroes. Excluded chompsaw and osaurus (already graduated to reviews, reachable from the homepage) and london-notebook-writing (text-only quote, no hero — would weaken the mosaic). Pool is still under the ~25 cluster-run threshold, so a single catch rather than a cluster run.

> The week's catch — the shortlisted finds that earned their keep but hadn't yet landed in a theme. An academic archive of horror, the house where Ozu spent his last years, a five-block roost thousands of crows return to each night, and a handful more, gathered here so none of them slip out of sight.
